The Arundel Youth Theatre (AYT) currently runs classes for 4-11 year olds in the Red Room. Led by professionals from the performing arts industry, these fun weekly sessions incorporate stage craft, singing, movement, improvisation and scripted performance. "A play is so called because that is exactly what we are doing when we use our imaginations to become someone else and create stories. As children we naturally have this skill. Acting helps us to never lose it" Drama is not just for those wishing to develop a career in acting. The skills learnt in class such as team work and vocal development, are fantastic skills for everyday life. Our aim is to provide a nurturing environment in which all children are encouraged to develop their talent and individual personalities with confidence whilst learning to respect and support those around them. Classes are devised and led by Rebecca O'Callaghan (BA Hons acting and musical theatre - Mountview Conservatoire for the performing arts) who has over ten years experience working with children and performing for theatre, television and radio in England and Australia. ... a new division of AYT specifically designed for our younger performers
